Hawkes Bay Pacific Golden Plover around??

Post by kengeorge »

Hi all,
I'm going to be in Hawkes Bay last week of November for a few days, anybody know of there are any Pacific Golden Plover around at the moment? Is the Plumed Whistling Duck still in Anderson Park in Taradale?

Hi Ken,

Yes. There have been up to 6 PG Plovers at Ahurriri (and a Shore Plover yesterday and this morning).

There are still 2 Plumed Whistling Ducks at Anderson Park - at least they were there last week!

cheers

Thanks for that Sav, are the PGP viewable with just binos or should I bring my scope as well? I was hoping to travel light but if the PGP are a long way off across the estuary I can bring my scope if needed.
Cheers
