Unusual gull Mangere (ID help appreciated)

Postby Logan » Thu Jan 10, 2019 7:49 pm

Saw a gull today at the beginning of the puketutu island causeway between 4 and 5 pm. Not sure if it was a juvenile black billed gull or something else but the jizz did feel different to black billed gulls which were also present. Flight seemed more buoyant than BB gull. Neck held more upright and head and bill seemed longer. Size was hard to tell but was similar to BB gull. Photos attached- would be keen to hear what people think. Can upload more photos if needed.
