Is it possible that the Cape Barren Goose population at St Anne's Lagoon has all but disappeared because the local council decided to try eradicating them? I seem to recall that that is what happened to the Cape Barren Goose population that existed in Kaipara.

A couple of weeks ago Scott Butcher and I noticed one Cape Barren Goose across the road at the yellow spot shown on the map below - so folks out looking for these greese should check out a wider area perhaps? The red lines I've drawn on the map are ridges and slopes on grassy hillsides above the various arms of St Annes Lagoon that CB Geese can some times be found.
