This American Golden Plover in breeding plumage is currently in Australia at the Western Treatment Plant near Melbourne. This is a species that has been seen in NZ previously where it is a very rare species, so it's worth double checking any Pacific Golden Plover flocks still around, especially if they are coming into breeding plumage (when they are easier to identify).
