Some unusual species recorded for Auckland Domain:
Takahe? https://ebird.org/checklist/S53698075
https://ebird.org/checklist/S26310128 Various shearwater species presumably from a boat trip.
Both these queries result from people who have been travelling. Is there a way of showing a travelling list without it appearing in one distinct place?

I wonder if the Takahe one is in a sanctuary?

This checklist from the Christchurch Botanic Gardens contains 3 birds that SHOULD NOT be together in this checklist:
https://ebird.org/checklist/S64781256
133 birds on my life list since 17 June 2020, latest bird Common Tern.
93 birds on my 2024 year list as of 6:50pm 13 January, latest bird Indian Peafowl.

Very much doubting the grey duck on that checklist.
I'm also not liking all the x's on there either

Not sure what the problem here is, I have seen all these species myself at the botanic gardens there. Including Grey duck. Having Xs for almost all species is a little lazy though (unless they really had no idea how many they were seeing).

Tui is the only one that's unlikely there (although it is possible), potentially mistaking a bellbird call? Oscar I'm very jealous if you've seen tui in the Chch Botanic Gardens!

Fraser gonna be honest... completely glossed over that one being on the list. Christchurch is just so backwards with their lack of tui!

Classic Aucklander! Hopefully the Banks Peninsula tui expand into Christchurch over the coming decades.

Well it could be:
Grey Duck = Mallard
Little Black Shag = Black Shag
Tui = Bellbird.
Hey, at least Banks Peninsula has some Tui!

Here are a few more:

Blue duck on an estuary in Tauranga? https://ebird.org/checklist/S66950681

And a whole bunch of blue duck records from the Rotorua lakes - is the Okataina eastern track one at all a possibility? Not familiar with the area.
