1 Bird Bird present today along with some arctic skua activity.

Hi All, Also seen at the Ashley estuary today was this Tern. Can anyone identify it for my friend, please.

I would call that an Arctic tern Bev. Appears to maybe be banded?

Ben, Christian and I searched the small flock for the Arctic this evening with no luck. One common was present and so was the little egret.

Please try to get a photo of that leg band if anyone refinds that bird and can get close to it. Its provenance would be super interesting!
Bev, was the bird on the beach or on the river delta? It looks like it's standing on sand.

No Artic today but the darker billed common tern was still present amongst a handful of WFTs today.

Dark-billed common tern present yesterday and about 100 White-fronted terns.

Red-billed one present today at Island roost with 126 WFT and 6 BFT. Coming into breeding plumage nicely!

Probably just a weird WFT but does anyone have thoughts on this tern? Slightly smaller than WFT juveniles near it that were chasing it off.
