Pair of Pectoral Sandpipers Hokio Beach
Following up previous reports a pair of Pectoral Sandpipers was found at the Hokio Estuary. Not great photos, heavily cropped but should allow ID corroboration. Also an excellent spot for Black-fronted Dotterels with several pairs around

Re: Pair of Pectoral Sandpipers Hokio Beach
I saw some eBird reports of the birds still present around 25 January, does anyone know if the birds are still present?
As I'll be heading up on Saturday Morning.

Interesting to note that both birds are just finishing primary moult with the outer (P10) at stage 4.

Still present today, at least the larger male looks to be transitioning nicely into breeding plumage
