Glossy Ibis in Westport

We found a Glossy Ibis at Orowaiti Lagoon, Westport, this afternoon, next to the SH67 bridge. It was feeding actively until challenged by 2 Black-backed Gulls which it saw off despite being significantly less bulky. Ebird down so not sure if it has been reported before.

Great find Tony. Did you get an indication as to weather it resettled after the gulls chased it? I'm passing through on my way home on Sunday so will give it a look.

Glossy ibis present today on the outgoing tide. Seems pretty intent on sticking with the spoonbills.
