Cattle Egret, Timber Yard Road, Canterbury

Was surprised to see 3 Cattle Egrets in BP in a roadside padddock just along from Harts Creek Bird Hide this afternoon. Was wondering if this is really unusual or moderately common for them to spend the spring here???

This means they bred for first time in NZ.
