Myna in New Brighton, Christchurch

Our Myna is still present in the New Brighton area. See it every few weeks, last time, a few days ago on Seaview Road outside Nuffield Kindergarten. Seems to like the Seaview Road/Hawke Street corner area. Local community facebook group has had a couple of reports of it a few weeks ago in Collingwood Street, so hasn't moved far since first seen 27 months ago. Unfortunately it didn't grace my backyard during the bird count!

Still around - 30 months now. Flew east over Hardy Street at noon today. See it every couple of weeks mainly within 100m of the New Brighton (Seaview Road/New Brighton Road/Hawke St/Owles Tce) roundabout, but I have never seen it over the city side of the river.

I had an unsuccessful search for this bird this afternoon, had anyone seen it recently?

The myna was Reported today near the New Brighton bridge at 5pm by Jackie Stevenson. So it is indeed still around

If it is just a solitary Myna, without a mate, there shouldn't be any worries.
