Short survey: Help improve tools for bird and wildlife acoustic monitoring

Post by jmy44 »

Kia ora everyone,

I’m a Master’s student at the University of Canterbury, currently doing an internship with Alato Ltd., a company working to improve tools for biodiversity and environmental monitoring in New Zealand.

As part of my research project, I’m gathering insights from people who use acoustic monitoring tools — whether you're deploying recorders, analyzing data, or using the results for bird or wildlife conservation decisions.

The goal is to better understand current practices, challenges, and feature needs, so we can help develop more user-friendly solutions (hardware and software) for the field.

 The survey takes just 5–10 minutes
:!: There’s also an optional prize draw as a small thank-you!

If you have experience with acoustic monitoring, even in a small or volunteer based role , your input would be hugely appreciated.

Thank you and please feel free to share this with others in your network who might be interested!
