Still 5 GBTs at the Manawatu Estuary this morning. Either on the spit, or hawking over the water between there and the big macrocarpas.
Also a large influx of godwits - 220 today up from 70 odd at the beginning of the week.

5 GBT's at Manawatu again today. Resting on the spit for a while, then splitting off in to groups and fishing near the spit or out on open water. One has slightly mottled almost all black cap, the others still have white heads.

There was a single Gull-billed Tern at the sandspit just before high tide today - 3 Dec. That is the first report since Craig's on 22 Oct.

There is still one present at Lake Ellesmere in the S Is. too. Seen at Selwyn Huts yesterday by Sheila Petch and jill West.
There may be others with the terns down the Kaitorete Spit. Awaiting reports.[me not the terns]
