where is the northern/southern Rock Wren divide?

Post by andrewcrossland »

Hi folks,

Can anyone tell me where the divide is between the Nationally Endangered northern rock wren (Xenicus gilviventris rineyi) and the Nationally Critical northern rock wren (Xenicus gilviventris gilviventris)?

And which of these "sub-species" are the birds in Arthurs pass?

thanks to anyone who can clarify...........

Andrew

Mt Cook, so Arthur's Pass should be northern. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4838
