Kaka vs other birds

Post by bombaydave2 »

Have been lucky enough to watch the Kaka at pukekohe high for last 2 weeks and noticed they get chased and mobbed by all other birds. Spur winged plover, magpie, tui, sparrows, mynah, starling and red leg gulls all chase the Kaka. Not sure why. I presume they look like a predator.

Yes, big and unusual, with a slightly shift demeanour, often cause a fuss.
Look for leg bands on your Pukekohe kaka, please.
