Common dolphins, Tapu

Post by David Riddell »

Driving up the western side of the Coromandel Peninsula yesterday about 9.15am was surprised to see a group of common dolphins (a dozen or two) not much more than 100m offshore, about 2km south of Tapu. They were actively swimming around in a small area, occasionally half broaching and splashing back down on their sides. Seemed to be fishing, but just one gull in attendance.
