Falcon was seen chasing a white faced heron at lindisfarne college while picking up my brother.
Was shocked to see him in that area, he flew around me a few times and then waited on top of one of the building then flew off, I thing he/she could be starting to nest since it was going after prey as big as a heron.
Could be possible living in the park but not too sure.
NZ Dotterel was seen with the black fronted terns at tuki tuki river mouth, there was a lot of tern activity and around 30 terns, the dotterel was likely going to the cape and possible stop off with bad weather.

Hi Tim,
I guess that's why Falco novaeseelandiae are renowned as one of the most aggressive falcons in the world ! The WFH was lucky not to be dinner !
Beautiful pix of the NZD and BFT !
Best regards,
Suzi
