The booby is present now, mostly obscured on a lower ledge by itself on the southern Edge of the colony. Best viewed from the southernmost platform, looking hard south towards Maori Bay.

It was reportedly not seen later this afternoon despite a search.

Paul G also reported one flying past Kariotahi beach today at around midday.

“*Right now* Brown Booby flying north at Karioitahi Beach, Waiuku. Only 100m out above surf. Look out Muriwai, here it comes!”

The bobby flew in at 1900 tonight. At southern end right on edge.

This evening it was on the exact same little ledge that Bob photographed it on. Quite difficult for shorter people to see without climbing slightly up the railings on the southern platform, leaning out as far as you dare, and try to look hard left around the flax leaves

Alternatively the whole bird was visible from the cliff top at the southern end of the car park, but you need a scope

The booby flew in yesterday at about 5:30pm, did a flew past quite close to the viewing platform and around the general area for a few minutes before settling on the same ledge on the southern side of the colony.

As Phil mentioned, you have to make an effort to see it once it's there, so if you didn't know it was there, it would be quite easy to miss.

The booby is still around, for those interested. Seen at 5:30 this evening on the tip of the northernmost platform.
